Remember Me

Remember Me 2018
Wednesday 16 May

11am – 4pm

A Dementia Arts Festival ran by The Courtyard’s Creative Ageing team.

This May sees the return of the Courtyard’s annual Dementia Arts festival – Remember Me. In its seventh year, this day long festival celebrates the wonderful creativity of people living with dementia across the county. This fun filled day aims to not only raise awareness about dementia, but to allow people living with dementia, their carers, family and friends to come together for an enjoyable day at The Courtyard!

The day offers a great opportunity for people living with dementia to get involved in many aspects of what The Courtyard provides as a community venue. Carers are able to share experiences and ideas, with professionals and volunteers coming together to network and offer information and advice.

To celebrate 250 years of circus, this year’s festival has a distinctly Big Top vibe! Visitors will have the chance to take part in creative workshops including our new Music Makers project, or take a turn on the dance floor with Miss Kitty at her Spectacular Tea Dance, and you can even have a go at being an aerial artists on our accessible silk hammock Why not give it a go and capture that feeling of flying through the air with the greatest of ease!

All sessions are free and places can be booked on the day. Event start at 11am and the day will finish at 4pm.

A large number of The Courtyard’s front of house staff and stewards have received Dementia Awareness Training which covers the nature of dementia, the challenges those with dementia face and communication.
